VIPKID and the Military Spouse

It’s Not Easy Being a Military Spouse

It can be tough maintaining a regular income when you’re a military spouse. When you’re active duty, you often have to pick up and move very often making it hard to maintain regular employment. It’s no easier with direct sales because you’re always leaving your client base and team behind.

Not to mention that when you’re either a national guard or active spouse and your loved one deploys, you have the added weight of being both mother and father to your children, making it even harder to maintain a even just a part-time job.

Enter VIPKID – a great new way to make easy money from home without the hassle of a boss and schedule or having to ask your friends to help you find new customers to sell the latest trends to.

In a nutshell, VIPKID teachers teach English as a Second Language online to some of the cutest kids in China using curriculum that is already prepared for each class. You just guide the students through a powerpoint presentation and make corrections as needed. It really is that simple.

VIPKID has been such a blessing for my family. My husband has been consistently deployed since 2006, and we have three kids (now ages 15, 14, and 10). I am constantly in the van driving one or more of them to all the places they need to go – even during regular school hours.

The beauty of VIPKID is that most of the hours that I spend with my kids are the hours that my students on the other side of the world are sleeping. Once my kids are sleeping, my students are awake and ready to learn!

And – you can make between $14-$22 an hour doing it in your pajamas with no makeup on in the comfort of your own home. Your rate is based on your experience and bonuses. I average $20 hour, but it could easily be $22 if I just opened up more time slots to teach.

Oh! Did I mention that you do NOT have to have a teaching certificate or a degree in education? All VIPKID requires is:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in ANY field OR an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education;
  • Current residency in the U.S. or Canada;
  • A stable, working computer with a headset, camera and internet (and you can turn those receipts in to your accountant at the end of the year – hint hint!);
  • Any level of “teaching” experience. Examples include:
    • Coaching
    • Mentoring/Tutoring
    • Volunteering to work with children  in a school or another organization such as scouts, little league, church youth groups, and more.

So, the question now is: What are you waiting for? Visit VIPKID right now to start the application process. Another gem about VIPKID is that even though you have a six-month contract, you still don’t have a quota or a minimum. If it turns out that it is not your thing – no worries! Just don’t open any time slots and walk away!

The application process is easy, but I’m always happy to help you through it. I have tips and tricks for each level, so please never hesitate to ask me for help. Just make sure you use my personal link or my referral code (JULIE0257).
